Exam	Texas accepts the MBLEx or the Texas massage examination where applicable. Renewal & CE	The massage therapist license renews every two years. · CE: A therapist completes 12 hours of qualifying continuing education during each two-year license period.Last verified 2026-10-05	The professional license is valid for life, while authority to practice requires triennial registration. · CE: Licensed massage therapists complete 36 hours of acceptable continuing education during each triennial registration period. The registration period in which the therapist is first licensed is exempt; a later shortened registration period uses 1 hour for each month.Last verified 2026-10-11	CAMTC certification and recertification run for two years. · CE: CAMTC does not require continuing education for recertification.
